My rescue dog delivered pups in March 2013. She was emaciated and anemic, so we separated her from the pups and she never got to nurse them. It's now July, and she has two swollen bottom teats that look like brains and are painful. The teats sometimes drain blood and fluids. My vet has put her on three different rounds of antibiotics, which haven't helped. He suggested a mastectomy. What should I do?

My 10-year-old, 90 lb., female yellow lab, Chloe, started having noticeable issues on July 10 when she vomited her dinner. Since then, she has been vomiting yellow, foamy bile, drinking lots of water, and refusing food. She was diagnosed with a bladder infection and given antibiotics, but couldn't keep them down. An X-ray revealed an enlarged liver and spleen, leading to a suspicion of cancer. Chloe was rehydrated and given anti-vomiting and pain medications, but she still isn't eating and continues to vomit her medicines. What could be causing her symptoms and what further tests or treatments should be considered?

My 10-month-old Rottweiler puppy frequently whines or yelps, especially at night after laying down or after playing hard. My husband thinks it's growing pains or attention-seeking, but I'm concerned. Hip dysplasia isn't a family issue, and he's been on large breed puppy food. What could be causing this, and what can I do without resorting to expensive x-rays?
