My Scottie has high liver enzymes and gallbladder sludge. After an ultrasound and liver biopsy, it showed inflammation and infection of the liver and gallbladder. The doctor prescribed clavomax 2× daily for 21 days and actigall suspension 2× daily. After 10 days, blood tests showed decreasing enzymes, so the doctor advised continuing the medications. During these 10 days, the dog was also given tramadol for pain and metacam for arthritis, which were stopped at 10 days. On day 11, 12, the dog vomited once and then coughed as if wanting to vomit but nothing came out. He also seems to want to eat grass, suggesting an upset stomach. Can the medications be upsetting his stomach? Can anything be given to settle his stomach?
