How much should I feed my newly adopted, overweight Siberian Husky mix named Ghost, who is about 4.5 years old and weighs 69 lbs? He has a thick winter coat and is currently on a Blue Buffalo adult chicken and rice diet, with the package suggesting 3.5-4.5 cups daily. However, I plan to feed him only two cups daily divided into two meals, unless advised otherwise. Additionally, he has been in a shelter for over a year and is adjusting to his new environment. He doesn't play with toys and mounts female dogs, which I believe is a sign of asserting dominance. Any advice on his feeding amount and behavior?
