My dog, Petey, a 7 1/2-year-old female, threw up black grass and liquid last night that smelled very bad. This morning, she threw up again with the same rancid smell. She has an appetite and is drinking water. She might have eaten a mouse or mole, but there are no signs of it in the vomit. She recently had her knees operated on and takes carprofen and gabapentin at night for pain. What could be causing this and what should I do?

My Great Pyrenees mix has a resting respiratory rate of over 80 consistently for 48 hours. All her blood work and chest X-rays came back normal. Is there something that would not show up on these tests that could be causing this? She has not eaten anything abnormal or gotten into anything poisonous, and has had bouts of fast breathing at rest before but never continual.
