Our 11-year-old terrier mix rescue dog, Ginger, became lethargic, wouldn't eat treats, was panting and licking her lips a lot, and was very clingy. She also seemed to have discomfort in her back legs but is walking and hopping normally. We took her to the emergency vet, where the exam and blood work were good, and she defecated this morning with some pinkish tones but no visible blood. The vet gave her trazadone for anxiety. Could her symptoms be related to her back legs, anxiety, or possibly ingesting something odd? Should we be concerned about her anal glands?

My dog, Howard, a 6-year-old who weighs 23 pounds, has been coughing for 2-3 days, starting mildly but getting worse. He is up to date on his kennel cough vaccine and has been to doggy daycare recently. His breathing is okay, and he is still eating and drinking. What could be causing the cough, and what can I do to help him while I'm away at a kennel?

My dog, Abbey, went through a traumatic event where a window in the house blew out over her. She is now very clingy, scared, and refuses to eat or drink. Her energy level is good when outside but reverts to extreme fear when inside. What can be done to help her calm down?

My 13-week-old Boston terrier, Bruiser, who weighs about 8 lbs, got into my medication and I think he ate a buprenorphine tablet. He's now whimpering, acting lethargic, walking wobbly, and appears drunk. It's been about 2 hours since this happened, and he hasn't vomited. What should I do?

I gave my 3-month-old puppy a teeny greenie, which she ate half of before I took it away. I'm concerned because I read online that puppies under 6 months shouldn't have them. She seems fine and ate her kibble afterward, but I'm still worried. What should I do?

My dog, Smalls, is a 15-year-old blind Chihuahua. One of her eyes is half out from a recent fight with another dog. We are 100 miles away from an emergency vet. Can this wait until the vet opens in the morning, or should I take her to the emergency vet immediately?
