We have a 16-month-old Borzoi named Sequoia with congenital heart defects including mitral and tricuspid dysplasia and a septal defect, with a 5 of 6 heart murmur. We started him on Vetmedin 3 1/2 weeks ago, but it seems to be making him worse, with increased heart rate, more panting, and needing to lie down during walks. We've heard Vetmedin hasn't been proven safe for congenital defects, and we're wondering if it's making him worse. What should we do?
