What could be causing my dog to sleep with her eyes open, have a green discharge in both eyes resembling conjunctivitis, and not blink (which lubricates her eyes)? The whites of her eyes are red, and she appears to have a whitish appearance in some places across her eyes. She also seems to have difficulty seeing things until she is right in front of them. Can conjunctivitis or a dry eye condition cause these symptoms, and what tests and treatments are recommended?

My dog ate a shamrock plant and some dirt. Now she is restless, wants to go outside and nose around in dirt, and her mouth seems to bother her a lot, causing her to gulp and swallow hard frequently. She doesn't appear sick otherwise and still moves around and wags her tail. Is this serious?
