What over-the-counter pain medications can I give my dog, Lucy, who was in a dog fight and has deep bite wounds on her front leg and butt area? She has been experiencing vomiting after being given a strong pain medication from the vet, and I would like to give her something milder until I can take her to our regular vet.

I'm fostering a 4-5 month old pup named Paisley who recently started throwing up, including foam, after switching his food to Iams adult. He hasn't eaten since yesterday and isn't drinking on his own. I've been giving him IV fluids and light Karo syrup on his gums. What could be causing this and is there anything else I can do until I can take him to the vet?
