For the last 3-4 months, my periods have been irregular, with heavy bleeding and passing blood clots. In March, I bled for 15 days, none in April, and in May, it has been 13 days with heavy flow. I have used 144 pads. I use Isagenix Ionix Supreme as a dietary supplement. What could be causing this and what should I do?

I am a 53-year-old woman who has gained 20 lbs in a year, with significant weight gain around my stomach and hips. I am on Effexor, Trazadone, Estradiol, and a medication for hyperthyroidism. I have been prescribed metronidazole for my IBS and I am unsure about the duration of the treatment and its effects. The doctor said to take it every 8 hours (3 times a day). I think he mentioned 5 days, but I'm not sure. Additionally, I would like to know why this medicine was prescribed and if it can eliminate the bacteria causing my IBS symptoms. I also have questions about using Nexium with metronidazole due to concerns about the antibiotics being rough on the stomach.

I just received my CT scan report and it showed patchy areas of decreased attenuation at the centrum semiovale and periventricular white matter bilaterally, and a lacunar infarct at the right basal ganglia. I'm concerned, and my emotions are inconsistent with my normal behavior. Is this emotional roller coaster normal?
