I had an IV drip in my right arm two weeks ago due to Salmonella ingestion. Two days after leaving the ER, I developed pain in that arm about two inches from the IV point. The pain extends from the origination point all the way to my wrist and follows a tendon, nerve, or vein path. The pain is concentrated in the specific tissue only and does not extend beyond that. It feels like a bruise all along the path of that specific tendon. There is no discoloring of skin or swelling; just a dull pain. What could this be?

I am diabetic and recently mentioned to my endocrinologist that my urine smelled odd. He suggested I might have a kidney infection and to consult my primary doctor. I went to my primary doctor, where I regularly undergo urine tests due to being on opioids. The test came back positive for cocaine, which I do not use. I want to know why it tested positive.
