I recently went to the doctor for a skin condition assessment. I initially thought it was a sebaceous cyst, but the doctor suggested it might be an MRSA infection due to additional abscesses on my upper thigh and under my left armpit. I was prescribed Cipro 500 mg twice a day, but I've read that Cipro is ineffective against MRSA and could lead to more resistant bacteria. I have an appointment with my regular physician tomorrow. Should I take the next two doses of Cipro 500 mg before learning if I have MRSA after a culture is done tomorrow?

I have unexplained urinary retention following bladder repair surgery in mid-September. I experience intermittent urination, burning, pressure, and retention of up to a litre of urine without feeling the need to go. I also have a history of fibromyalgia, take multiple medications including Lyrica, and recently had an ultrasound showing a cystic mass posterior to the bladder. My urologist suggests self-catheterization for 2-3 months, but I am experiencing difficulties and blood on the catheter. What could be causing my urinary retention and the cystic mass, and what further steps should I take?
