I have a jealousy issue. My partner is wonderful and not causing it. I feel constantly scared of being hurt even though she has done nothing. She has many friends and I'm jealous of her time with them. I know she had a past incident where she had a one-night stand with a married man. I think about this and conjure up thoughts to torture myself. I recognize this is my fault and need help. I need to resolve this otherwise I'm sure I will lose her. I understand jealousy is about self-esteem, but I need specifics on what I can do daily to get these thoughts out of my head. I'm also open to over-the-counter medications if necessary. What are the basic reasons for my jealousy and are there mental techniques I can use to prevent spiraling down? I'm open to seeing a mental therapist or psychologist and have already set up an appointment, but I also feel there must be ways of exercising mental control over my emotions, especially when dealing with my partner's past relationships. I don't think past relationships have any place in evaluating my partner or dealing with this issue - and it definitely sets my jealousy off. Thank you.

I have been experiencing high blood pressure, which was measured at 150/100 a month ago. I am currently taking propranolol and have a follow-up appointment tomorrow. My recent lab results showed normal thyroid, kidneys, electrolytes, and lipid panel, but slightly high cholesterol (235). I am concerned about the potential causes of my high blood pressure and whether it could be related to my anxiety or high cholesterol. I am also wondering if one month is enough time for propranolol to work, if high cholesterol can elevate blood pressure, and if lifestyle changes such as weight loss, diet modifications, and exercise can help manage or eliminate the need for medication.
