I had a total knee replacement 4 years ago. Two weeks ago, I fell on the stairs and injured my knee. I had initial bruising and swelling, but now I still have swelling below the knee cap, which is somewhat hard and firm. My orthopedic doctor took an X-ray and said the prosthesis is not damaged. I am concerned about the duration of the swelling and whether there could be ligament damage. My pain is mild and I only take Tylenol. I can still bend my knee without pain and walk with a cane. How long should the swelling last, and should I still ice it at this point?

My son is 11 years old and is taking Movicol. He has severe nausea and pain before and after bowel movements. Could these symptoms be due to the drug Movicol? What else could I try to see if that makes a difference?

I have been feeling a bean-shaped thing in the middle of my throat for about 2 months. It doesn't hurt, and I can move it when I touch it. It hasn't gone away and I'm wondering what it might be and if it could be concerning, like HIV or something.
