I recently had a blood test to check liver function due to stomach pain near the xiphoid process, which subsided after eating. The test showed elevated liver values (ALT 256, AST 84, Alkaline Phos 243) and normal bilirubin. I am a 34-year-old male who drank alcohol nearly every night and took tramadol three times daily for pain from an accident. I have since stopped both and am focusing on a healthy lifestyle. What do these test results indicate, and what steps should I take to address the liver issue?
