My husband has bruising around his naval (belly button) and the bruise seems to be getting bigger. What could this be caused by and should we go to the emergency room immediately or can this wait until he can see a doctor tomorrow?

Ever since I flew from New Jersey to Florida last week, I have had reddish areas and soreness under all of my fingernails. No other symptoms have presented themselves except for the tenderness under the nails. It does not have a bruised appearance nor did I sustain any injuries to my hands. It has persisted all week and is constant and has not subsided any. I thought it might be from the pressurizing of the flight but the symptoms do not meet altitude sickness. Any suggestions?
