My mother has been experiencing severe, clenching liver pain radiating to her back, similar to gallbladder pain but without a gallbladder since 1980. The pain is unresolved by narcotics but somewhat relieved by Xanax. Liver and blood tests are normal, MRI shows nothing, and a scope into the esophagus and liver duct shows no recurrence of duct stones. She has persistent nausea, chills/overheating, weakness, disturbed sleep, confusion, dizziness, itching, increased blood pressure, and has been a non-insulin-dependent diabetic for 10 years. The doctors cannot find the source of her pain since last September. What could be causing her pain and what additional tests or treatments should be considered?

I have been suffering from CFS and adrenal exhaustion. I recently had a comprehensive parasitology test which showed low beneficial bacteria (Lactobacillus species), high levels of Enterobacter cloacae and Klebsiella oxytoca, and yeast (1+). How should I approach this, considering adding a different type of probiotic to my supplements, taking an antifungal, or both? How does one typically deal with higher levels of potential pathogenic bacteria?

I have been struggling with extreme fatigue for over a year now. My primary care physician found EBV and a prior case of mono, and a rheumotologist indicated RA based on anti-CCP tests. I took methotrexate for RA but it made me nauseous, and my ALT level is elevated. No one is addressing the fatigue, which is worsening, leading to frustration and depression. What tests should I undergo and what treatments might help?

My medical tests are normal, and I have been under acute stress for the past six years, including a nervous breakdown. I also had a stomach sleeve surgery in 2008. I have been experiencing right side lower belly pain, major acid burning across my chest, sudden weight gain, a huge stomach, nausea all day with dry heaves, and severe pain when eating anything other than dry cereal or oatmeal. I also have a chronic blood disorder (thrombocytosis and controlled asthma) and have had a total hysterectomy and a tubal pregnancy in the past. My symptoms have been ongoing for a month and have steadily worsened. I can't sleep lying down and feel bad all day. How can I convey to my doctor that I believe this is more than just anemia?
