My son has an abscess on his gum below a baby tooth with a cavity that needs to be removed. The dentist prescribed an antibiotic, but it won't be available until tomorrow evening. I used warm salt water to help the abscess drain, which seemed to improve the situation. However, I'm concerned about the infection spreading and the delay in starting the antibiotic. Should I be worried, and what should I do until the antibiotic is available?
