I have had my period for a month and a half now. I am on no birth control and a mother of two, a four-year-old and a two-year-old. What could be causing this prolonged bleeding?

My brother has been taking infusion of Remacaid for about 6 months. He has congestion, cough, and x-rays show his lungs are all 'white'. One week ago, they were clear. He has a cough and has to be on O2. He is in the hospital now but is going home today with O2 and will have a lung biopsy Monday. Can this cause permanent scarring to his lungs?
