My son is 16 and moderately autistic. He hasn't had a bowel movement in 5 days, which is unusual for him. We suspect he may have swallowed a foreign object, like a book cover. We've given him a stool softener for two nights. Should we give him a laxative to get his bowels moving, or is that not a good idea given the possibility of a swallowed object?

My 6-year-old son got hives or a rash all over his body about 8 days ago, and now my 9-year-old has a similar rash head to toe. I've been giving them Benadryl, and it's starting to go away.
