I have bleeding from my rectum and itching. My doctor did not perform an internal rectal examination and there have been no changes in my bowel movements. The blood is bright red. I have no other symptoms other than intense itching. The skin around my rectum is red and bumpy, resembling eczema, but there are no open sores. The tissue around the anus is bulbous and pink. What could be the cause of these symptoms and what type of doctor should I see for further investigation?
