5 years ago, I purchased a house with my boyfriend, with separate mortgages for the house and land. I moved out a year and a half later, and my boyfriend has since married and had a family. He never refinanced to remove my name from the loans. Now, the bank says the loans are going into foreclosure, and I am responsible for $13,000 or my credit will be affected. I didn't know my name was still on the loan. Must I pay the $13,000, or is there something else I can do?
