A family member has done some very bad things to me in the past, including kidnapping me. I want to visit home for Christmas and am tired of him slandering me and denying the things he did. I told my family that either he could sign a document admitting everything or I would get a restraining order. He agreed. Can I just make up a precise, comprehensive 'confession' for him to sign (with a notary present)? Or will that hold no legal weight?
