A former property management company wants to deduct a placement fee from our deposit for re-renting the home after we ended the contract early. The contract did not state anything about being liable for the fee, only the rent until the home was filled. My husband initialed to the fee, but I did not agree to it. Can they still take it out of the deposit, or do all parties, including myself, have to agree?

I want to find a lawyer who can help in bringing to the attention of the government authority a criminal scheme in a healthcare facility in Indiana, where people are put in harm's way to enhance billing from private insurance and Medicare/Medicaid insurance. I have been working with a small law firm and have evidence, but need expert advice on how to approach the proper authority for prosecution.

My husband's ex-wife refused to take our stepdaughter to school because he had preplanned a birthday concert for her and a friend, and had informed her about it two months in advance. She denied permission for my husband to take her, resulting in her refusal to take the child to school. The mother is noncustodial and did not inform us about her decision not to send the child to school. Eventually, she allowed my husband to speak to his daughter while she was on speakerphone. What legal actions can be taken in this situation, and should Child Protective Services (CPS) be involved?
