About 5 months ago, my landlady told me she had cancer and had to sell the house to pay for medical expenses. We moved out within the 60-day period she specified, and she rented the house to someone else for $1,000 more. We had to move into a hotel until we found a new house to rent. We had lived in that house for about 15 years. Do I have any legal recourse to recover moving expenses and some sort of pain and suffering for having our lives turned upside down? I still can't believe we got treated that way. I paid for her mortgage for 15 years.

Our customer owes $5,500 and it has been around 5 months. We still have 6 post-dated checks, and one of them is a returned check. She sold her business 2 weeks ago. Her business was in Memphis, TN, and she lives in Chicago, IL. How can I claim the payment? Please help.

I am considering bankruptcy due to financial difficulties, including owing $14,000 in credit cards, a $570 monthly motorcycle payment, a $119 monthly truck payment, and $200 monthly insurance. I am unemployed and receive $230 weekly after child support. I also have a duplex in Michigan that pays for itself but has no equity. I recently made a $2,300 purchase on my credit card for tools and a ladder rack for my truck, and I'm concerned about potential fraud if I file for bankruptcy soon. What should I do?

Dog got hit by a car; driver said he has damage to his automobile; it was old damage; ask driver to take car to a dealership to see if the damage is old; Instead he goes to his own shop. Do we have the right to have his car taken to our dealership, and how can we prove the damage is old if we have the driver take it to a reliable shop (dealership)?

If you own a rental property and your tenant, who has been there for 5 years, wants to put down hardwood floors in the living room and dining room at their expense, would you need to get a contract stating that the hardwood flooring stays with the property if they leave or are evicted?

In California, can a Memorandum of Lease be recorded if only one of the parties executes it? If not, how can this be accomplished if one party does not cooperate?
