I had a garnishment filed on me back in 1999 for the remaining balance on a voluntary repo on a vehicle. The company has changed attorneys several times until the new one just started to garnish my wage within the last month. I tried to settle the account several years ago but never was contacted back by the attorney at the time. Can they really garnish me now after all this time?

My sister-in-law passed away in June 2006. She kept her living trust in a safe deposit box and made the bank the trustee. My other sister-in-law went to the bank and the bank opened the box and gave her the contents even though she was not on the signature card, the bank relinquished their trusteeship and gave it to her. She is now hiding the trust, and I and my husband and a colleague were named in that trust. I have had her summoned to court to disclose a copy of the trust, but she never appeared. Did the bank break any laws by doing what they did and do I have any recourse to have the bank write me and my attorney a letter explaining what they did? I feel they broke the law and have caused me considerable pain, and I have also recently lost my husband. Can she get away with what she is doing? Isn't my sister-in-law breaking the law too?

I recently resigned from a company with a non-compete agreement that restricts me from selling competing products within the United States for two years. I was hired by a new company that manufactures an unrelated product but sells to the same customers as my previous employer. My former employer claims I am in violation of the non-compete and cannot contact their customers. I reside in Illinois, as does my former employer. What should I do?
