At age 56, my employment was terminated with the reason of 'eliminating' my position of Quality Manager at a manufacturing facility. I was offered 6 weeks severance pay, after 16 years of employment. I have had health issues within the last year, and had even requested, and was sent paperwork for potential short-term disability leave, prior to this 'position elimination' notification. Do I have legal grounds for either age or medical disability discrimination?
