Can I file a motion for a protective order as the discovery deadline approaches to control a burdensome, unreasonable, and oppressive discovery request, narrow the scope of the discovery request, limit excessive discovery, limit disclosure and use, and address the issue as justice requires? The opposing attorney's requests are irrelevant to the main issue of turning gifts before marriage into loans and our mutual business investment monies, and some documents requested go back 30 years, while we were only married and living together for 8 months.

I have an issue with a contract for my wedding venue. We paid a significant deposit and additional payments, but the contract was misleading. The original event proposal included an outdoor ceremony pavilion, beer and wine garden, window room, and reception area, but the staff who provided this proposal have resigned, and the venue now claims the proposal was not part of the contract. They are refusing a refund despite the significant changes and misrepresentation. What legal actions can I take, and should I hire an attorney?

I recently purchased a gas station where environmental inspection equipment has been occupying about 300 square feet for 15 years. The previous owner mentioned that the equipment was supposed to be moved 3 years ago but hasn't been. The phase III inspection proved that contaminants are not from my gas station. How can I get the environmental testing company to move the equipment or at least pay rent for occupying my land?

Will animal neglect charges affect an ongoing divorce? My girlfriend is going through a divorce and we had a sick dog that no one would take. I lied and said it was a stray, and we got caught. They are now trying to say the dog was neglected. They contacted her ex-husband, who is making it worse for us. Is this likely to affect the divorce hearing? What can we do to prove that we tried to call a bunch of shelters to get them to take her?
