Hello, so as discussed yesterday, my business partner put the lease for our building into his name and the company just paid rent to him every month. In mid-December, he locked me out of the building even though we were current on rent. After letting them know I will be proceeding with legal action and voting him out of the company, I received a phone call from his receptionist that I can pick up a key to the new locks tomorrow. I know that I will also be handed an eviction notice at the time I pick up the keys. Since I was locked out prior to the beginning of January, I did not pay January’s rent. Do you advise me to give them a check for January’s rent?
