I am a member of a condominium association with 84 units. Our insurance was cancelled and we had to obtain insurance from Citizens. Our units are a mix of concrete block structure (CBS) and wood frame. My building is wood framed. The wood frame condos are paying a higher premium than the CBS buildings. Our association president, who is also the developer, is making me pay a much higher maintenance fee due to the high cost of insurance. I feel that our total budget, including insurance, should be divided by 84 units so that all association members are paying equally. Is this a fair approach?
