If I left my home because of an abusive spouse, can he get me for abandonment and get the house and everything in it?

I lived with a man for 10 years, quitting my long-time job to work for him and his company. I went through a lawsuit he had before me, which he lost, and we started over with $500 in the account. I helped rebuild the company and we won a lawsuit, but soon after, he asked me to leave. I want to be financially free from him and have what I worked hard for, as I feel controlled by him. What legal steps can I take to achieve this, especially since I cannot afford the fees to start a case?
