I am being sued in a limited Civil Case in California by a lawyer representing a company I took out a loan from in 2006. I paid a legal assistant to help me answer the summons and asked for verification of the debt. They asked for the same documents I asked them for and a meet and confer request. I did not receive their paperwork until last week as they sent it to my mother's house, so I missed the deadlines to answer them. The court date is today, and they are making a motion to deem matters admitted, memorandum of points, and declaration. I consulted with an attorney last week and have decided to file Bankruptcy. What should I say to the judge today, considering I missed the discovery and meet and confer deadlines, and I will also be filing Bankruptcy soon?

If someone/couple has committed adultery against church/biblical policies and is brought before the church board, and someone provides a picture proof of the adulterous behavior before they (adulterous couple) got married, is this considered slander?

I have a marina in North Carolina. A customer owes about $1,000 in slip/storage fees for a boat and a camper. The customer removed the boat from the premises without paying. I have a written contract for the camper but only a verbal contract for the boat. Can I place a lien on the boat or camper, and how do I go about doing it? Is the customer's action of removing the boat criminal, and can I press charges? Can I legally block the camper from being removed?

My father, who has dementia and has been declared incompetent, is in an assisted living facility. My mother and my youngest brother are incessantly calling him, exacerbating his paranoia and delusions. They are also planning an 'escape' with him, which requires a 24/7 sitter. They have provided him with sensitive personal and financial information and are encouraging him to change his Power of Attorney (POA) and retrieve his bank records and passports from me. They have also threatened me and are harassing the facility staff. What legal steps can I take to protect my father and prevent them from interfering with his care and finances?

I have experienced severe harassment, including threats, property damage, and a gun being pointed at me, due to my refusal to leave my home. The local authorities have not been helpful, and my lawyer advised me to leave. I cannot leave and want to know what legal actions I can take to protect myself and stop the harassment.
