I am being sued in Texas and I am one of several defendants involved in a car accident. The plaintiff is misleading the court, and I have no money to hire an attorney. I would like to write my own answer since I am not the person who caused the accident. I want to file a General Denial, but I am struggling to do it right. I read one of the other defendant’s answer that was prepared professionally by an attorney. I find that their response applies to what I want to say as well. Can I copy their response word for word and adjust it to become my response? Would doing this cause any conflict or legal issues with the other defendant since it’s their answer? By the way copying, their answer would not cause them any harm by any means. It would rather support their claims. I just want to make sure that I will not get me in trouble by copying their answer and make it my answer because I have no way of hiring an attorney to represent me or get appropriate help. Thank you.
