I am currently under house arrest with 9 more days to go, but I had a relapse with cocaine and have a urine test tomorrow. If it comes out positive, what are the consequences? I have been out of the halfway house for 8 months, have a steady job, and a family.

A woman in Baltimore gave her 8-year-old Yorkie Poo to a friend with the directive to find a temporary home while she got back on her feet. Through a series of connections, the dog, Armani, ended up with us in terrible shape and without up-to-date vaccinations. We have spent close to $2000 on Armani over the past 4 months, and she is now healthy and happy. The owner has not asked for the dog back, and we are unwilling to return her. How much time needs to pass for us to claim ownership?

If a person has a durable power of attorney and someone refuses to accept it to sign legal documents, but the person with the power of attorney signs the document anyway, is that document valid?
