I am doing pre-trial diversion for invasion of privacy on a restraining order I put on somebody. That person also broke the restraining order and now I've been subpoenaed to testify against them in court. Should I plead the 5th as it might get me in more trouble if I testify or should I just answer all questions?

I foolishly co-signed student loans for both my children with Sallie Mae. Neither have jobs that can support them 100 percent, but also have no funds to pay on their loans. My wife and I have been able to pay the loans for them, but we are getting along in years and do not know how much longer we will be able to be employed. When we are both on Social Security and drawing off our 401K's, what, if anything, can Sallie Mae get from us if we can no longer pay. We live in New York state residents.
