I am in a difficult marriage with a husband who has severe mental issues, lies, steals from me, and harasses me constantly. He has a payee due to irresponsible behavior and makes about $4000 a month from veteran benefits and Social Security, but I never see any of it. I am saving to leave, but in the meantime, he follows me around the house and harasses me. Additionally, he has a history of causing scenes and bringing homeless people into our home. I've had a run-in with the law where I was taken to jail for hitting him, and I'm not sure how that will affect my situation. What legal steps can I take to protect myself and potentially obtain spousal support?
