I am on Section 8, and my landlord has given me a 30-day notice to move because they are converting my trailer to a rent-to-own. The Section 8 office wants proof of my energy bill because my landlord claimed I haven't been living there, despite receiving my portion of the rent and Section 8's portion. They are threatening to not give me another voucher due to low energy bills. Can they legally do this, and do I have the right to get my portion of the rent refunded since the landlord is alleging I am not at home?

We own a valuable rental triplex in Iowa. Our mortgage company sold the loan to a foreclosure company. We want the abstract produced so we can sell or refinance. They deny its whereabouts. What steps should we take to obtain the abstract, and can we file a motion to enjoin if necessary?

If the lease does not stipulate any penalties for breaking but the landlord verbally tells you that he's required 2 months rent for you to leave, is that legal?

I filed a wrongful death suit with my ex-wife using the same lawyer. A judgment was granted on 8/06/10, and the lawyer said he could not file a release for my money until my wife files her release. If we have separate suits, isn't my lawyer in a conflict of interest?
