I am working under a grant at a Mental Health center in Iowa as a trained peer support specialist. I have been told by my boss that peers in the wellness center feel uncomfortable around me and that I should not clean the center. This has triggered my mental health symptoms and I am considering quitting my job. I need to know if I would be eligible for unemployment benefits if I quit immediately, and if there are grounds for a lawsuit due to unfair treatment.

I was in a restaurant business with my wife, where she ran the business and I constructed the building. She never paid the withholding taxes for employees, and my name was on the corporation. After she left, I had to close the business, and my building and home were foreclosed on. The IRS claims I owe them $51,000 and placed a lien against me. I am on Social Security and have no resources. Do I need an attorney to negotiate a settlement with the IRS, or should I try to do it myself? If an attorney is needed, how can I find a local one specializing in this discipline, and how can I check their record?
