I was laid off from a company that shut down in March 2020 and applied for unemployment, which I got approved for. However, I also started trading cryptocurrency around the same time, making over 70 trades in four months. I still have my trading account with money in it and occasionally trade. Would this make me a day trader, even though I didn't register as one, and could it disqualify me from receiving unemployment benefits? This is my first time trading, and if it does disqualify me, how do I correct my mistake? I haven't done my taxes yet, so I don't know if I made a profit or loss, but it wasn't a significant amount of money.
