Robert A. asked
I filed a case pro se against the US Attorney in the Southern District of Ohio and noticed the AG in Washington, DC. The court in Ohio stated there weren't sufficient grounds for diversity of citizenship and sent the case to the Southern District of Indiana. Would it not follow that the Ohio court's action would have been proper notice to the AG in Indiana, since the court in Indiana accepted service?

I live in Maine and I can’t find anything about the laws on owning a yellow-bellied slider turtle. My friend bought a yellow-bellied slider from a pet store in Florida 4 years ago and brought it to Maine. She can no longer take care of it and wants to give it to me. Is it legal for me to own a yellow-bellied slider in Maine, and can I get a permit for it without getting me or my friend in trouble?

I am a member of Hotworxs and pay $80 a month for the 'sweat everywhere' package. I was banned from two facilities for excessive sweating, which is not mentioned as grounds for banning in my contract. The Hotworxs website promotes excessive sweating as a benefit. Do they have the right to ban me from these locations, and is this a breach of contract and false advertisement?

Is defamation the only example of an offense that has presumed damages? In civil suits, when asking for damages, you have to prove both a violation and harm, except in defamation cases where there's presumed harm. Are there any other violations like that?

Is Power of Attorney mandatory when agreements are signed, specifically in the context of a contract signed in Malaysia in March 2022, where our representative signed off as a witness without a Power of Attorney, and the contract was later vetted by the company's lawyers in Malaysia?

Aren't prosecutors and lawyers not exactly friends? Like aren't they not on the same team? I mean, I understand the level of respect, because they are all lawyers so they are all equal in positions, but defense and prosecution or opposing sides should not be chummy and on the same side of a client's guilt or innocence, right? Or right or wrong, the job is to win the case and win one for the team. It doesn't matter who is actually right; the lawyer's job for their client is just to win at all costs, right? I don't see much justice in the judicial system here.
