I filled out a DMV form incorrectly in 2006, stating I never had a New York state license when I actually had a permit under a false name in 1998. This led to an investigator informing me I couldn't make any DMV transactions and had to turn myself in for a misdemeanor. I was unable to get a new permit due to this issue. It's been 11 years since then. Do I still have a hold on my DMV transactions, or has the statute of limitations passed? I was incarcerated from May 2014 and am currently on home confinement and probation. Would I be able to go to the DMV and get my New York state ID?
