I had a background check run on a new hire who starts in about a week. The results showed some significant discrepancies. Her resume says that she had graduated from university, but the background check shows she had attended but did not graduate. Her resume also says one of her previous job titles was 'supervisor,' the background check shows 'associate.' Should I inform the new hire of these discrepancies? If the background check info turns out to be correct, will I have any legal issues if I decide to retract her employment offer?
