I hired a general contractor to remodel my house. He presented a $100K budget when the project was 60% done, but then charged me an additional $50K without prior notice, significantly exceeding the original budget. We sold a racing circuit a couple of years ago and took a note for payment. The final payment of $7000 is now 6 months overdue. We are in NH and the debtor is in CT. He is planning an event in VT next month. Can we stop the event to collect our money or send a sheriff to collect before he runs the event?
