I have a car that is in both my name and my ex-boyfriend's name. He is claiming to be a lien holder, but the car is paid off. Does having both our names on the title make him a lien holder, or does it mean he is a co-owner?

My son, a 14-year-old freshman at New Mexico Military Institute, experienced a significant drop in his GPA from 4.0 to 1.88, behavioral issues, and was involved in a theft incident off-campus without supervision. The school provided inadequate oversight and did not communicate these issues to us in a timely manner. We are considering legal action.
