I have a civil suit in Illinois and signed a voluntary dismissal. Can I file a motion to vacate that dismissal and continue to trial? Additionally, the judge mentioned I had passed the state's statute of limitations and suggested I dismiss the case. Was the judge's action improper, and can I request another judge to hear the case? Also, can you provide a sample form for a motion to vacate?

My sister-in-law was scheduled for emergency surgery to remove a brain tumor but the surgery was delayed for 7 days due to OR availability. During this time, she experienced severe gas accumulation, constipation, and abdominal pain. After surgery, she was found to have multiple perforations in her small and large intestine, leading to feces and gas escaping into her abdominal area, close to sepsis shock. She underwent another surgery and now has an ostomy bag and a 'gas valve'. Her bowels are severely damaged from diverticulitis and constipation, and she cannot return to work or live a normal life. This condition is also delaying treatment for her newly diagnosed lung cancer. Is there any recourse available?

The electric company wants me to sign a paper that releases Hawaiian Electric Company and its contractors from any claims, losses, or damages arising from their work on my property. They will be replacing underground wires after a power surge damaged my property. I am concerned that if someone falls into a trench they dig and gets hurt, they might sue me. The paper mentions restoring the excavated area to its original condition but does not explicitly state that they are responsible for any resulting damages. What should I do?
