I have a dispute with a quasi-family member who refused to cover a vehicle I purchased for her, despite an agreement that she would pay the car note and insurance once employed. The vehicle was left wrecked and abandoned, and I am unable to sell it due to damage and excessive mileage. Additionally, the defendant owes me $2,000 for repairs from 2017. I have not spoken to a lawyer yet and am considering a small claims case. What steps should I take, and what are my total damages?
