I have a marital settlement agreement that was signed by myself, my wife, and two witnesses as well as two notaries. My wife's attorney is now saying that the agreement may not be legally binding because it was not filed with the circuit clerk's office in a 'timely manner.' Is this a binding contract between the two of us under Michigan state law or not?

Can you please tell me at what location hiring a person with a drug felony might include, and if some locations do not have a legal right not to hire a person with a felony drug possession conviction, how can they legally have a policy that will not hire a felon?

I was served a civil summons from a company (ASSET ACCEPTANCE LLC) regarding a debt originally with MBNA AM BK from 1999. The debt was charged off and doesn't show on my credit report now. They claim I owe $3000 and will only settle for $2500. What are my options? Should I accept the settlement, hire an attorney to fight it, or do something else?
