Both were created about 10 years ago, and I signed the promissory note under duress for $15,000. I am now being asked to pay, but I cannot financially and do not want to. My daughter's ex-roommate is suing her for money she had to pay for excessive cleaning of their apartment. There was no roommate agreement and no verbal agreement. The ex-roommate decided to move out early, causing the leasing agency to add more money to each roommate's rent over a 3-month period. A verbal agreement was made with my daughter and another roommate that my daughter would pay him back once she got a full-time job. The other roommate agreed to pay the ex-roommate back for her portion, which she agreed to via text but then decided to file a small claims case against my daughter. Can the ex-roommate sue my daughter since she initially agreed to the arrangement?

My contractor did a very bad job on my 90 sq ft shower tiles. The tiles are uneven, have excess grout, and the shower floor has chipped tiles and missing grout. I asked the contractor to replace all the tiles and pay for everything except his work, but he refused and stopped responding to my texts and calls. I want to take him to small claims court. Do I have a chance to win this case?

I had damage to my home from a rain storm last year in August. I lost the check and it was re-issued to me. I sent it to my mortgage company because it was in both of our names back in February. They have yet to send it back and my home is getting more damage to it especially since the storm last week. What can I do because I need to get my home repaired?
