I have been summoned to court for medical debt in Colorado. I have already paid some of the debt, but they kept asking for more and eventually stopped collecting. Now, both my wife and I are named on the summons. Can I settle this debt without going to court, and is it possible to settle for less than the full amount, especially since the insurance didn't pay as much as it was supposed to?
