I have just resigned my job, effective Sept 7, per a request, when I was hired, that I give a 30 day notice. My HR dept just contacted me and said they are not accepting my resignation date and are instead changing it to this Friday (and are not paying me past this Friday). Is this legal?

My son was taken from me on 3/30/06. He was born on 2/6/06 and is still in temporary custody. I have a court hearing soon, and they want to adopt him out. What county and state are you in? Why did the county take your son? Have you had any contact with your son since they removed him?

I work in a satellite office in Austin, TX, and my employer is located in New York but contracts a payroll company in New Jersey. My direct deposit was not issued in July or August, and I have received no straight answer on whether I am terminated.
