I helped pay for my sister's stay in an assisted living facility because she had no money and didn't qualify for Medicaid due to her assets. The plan was to be repaid from the proceeds of her house sale. My sisters and father agreed to repay me, but now the guardian says it can't be done because there were no loan papers, considering it a gift. How can I prove this was a loan and not a gift, and what steps can I take to enforce this agreement?
